Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Ginger collects, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it plain, because that's how we work.

Who we are

Ginger is a trading name of Ginger Land Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC476058). Our registered office is 12 Dalfaber Park, Aviemore, PH22 1QF, United Kingdom.

For anything in this policy, or to exercise any of your rights, contact us at info@ginger.land. Ginger Land Ltd is the "data controller" responsible for your personal data, and is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZA920640).

What data we collect

We only collect what we need. That falls into three groups:

When you contact us Through our contact form or by email: your name, work email address, company name (optional), team size, and whatever you tell us in the "what's prompting this?" message. If we go on to work together, we'll collect further information as needed for that engagement.
When you use the website Anonymous, aggregate usage data via analytics, for example the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and the type of device and browser you use. This is used to understand how the site is performing, not to identify you.
When you email or call us The contents of your correspondence and any contact details you choose to share.

Your details go to a human, not a mailing list. We do not run marketing email campaigns, and we never sell your data.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. Ours are:

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. It sets cookies and collects usage data as described above. We have IP anonymisation enabled and we do not use Google's advertising features, ad-personalisation, or remarketing. There is no ad tracking and we do not share your data with advertisers.

Analytics only runs if you accept it via the cookie banner. If you choose "No thanks", no analytics cookies are set. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data and we don't share it for marketing. We do use a small number of trusted providers ("processors") who handle data on our behalf under contract:

We may also disclose data where we're legally required to, for example to comply with a court order or a regulator.

International transfers

Our hosting keeps your data in the UK. Google Analytics may involve transferring anonymised usage data outside the UK, including to the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision (the UK–US Data Bridge).

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it:

How we keep it safe

Your data is stored on secure servers in AWS's London region. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we limit access to those who need it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email info@ginger.land. We'll respond within one month. There's normally no charge.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, we'd like the chance to put it right. Please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, or by phone on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear.
